Després de l’èxit de la primera edició, aquest II Congrés de Professorat STEM de Primària, Secundària i Formació Professional vol reforçar un espai col·lectiu on el professorat es reconegui com a agent clau en la transformació educativa. Enguany posem el focus a donar major visibilitat i valor al treball que, des de les aules, es desenvolupa en l’àmbit de la ciència, la tecnologia, la digitalització i les matemàtiques, així com a la didàctica específica que les fa possibles. L’objectiu és enfortir la confiança professional, ampliar mirades i compartir el potencial que el professorat desplega quan dissenya, adapta i implementa iniciatives innovadores a l’ESO, el batxillerat i els cicles formatius.

Aquest congrés vol ser una trobada transversal, un punt d’encontre entre docents de disciplines científiques, tecnològiques i matemàtiques, i professorat de Formació Professional de les famílies industrials. Un espai per posar en comú maneres diverses de millorar l’ensenyament i l’aprenentatge, generar sinergies i afrontar plegats els reptes d’una educació STEM que evoluciona ràpidament i demana noves respostes. La pluralitat de perspectives —des de la recerca fins a les experiències d’aula, passant per la innovació metodològica i tecnològica— és, més que mai, un valor central.

Welcome to the 18th International Conference on Atmospheric Electricity (ICAE 2026), the world’s largest event dedicated to advancing the science of atmospheric electricity. We are delighted to announce that the ICAE 2026 will be held in the colorful city of Barcelona, Spain.

ICAE 2026 provides an opportunity for researchers from all over the world to present the latest discoveries, exchange ideas, and the most important: learn, interact with your colleagues and make new friends.

This is the first time that ICAE 2026 lands in Spain. Our tradition in modern atmospheric electricity is dated at the beginning of 20th century (1904) with measurements of atmospheric potential gradient, ions and air conductivity, and radio detection of lightning. After more than 100 years of tradition in atmospheric electricity, we are proud to host the ICAE 2026 in Spain.

The 14th Symposium on River, Coastal, and Estuarine Morphodynamics, RCEM2025, will take place in Barcelona, Spain, in 1-5 September 2025.

RCEM provides a biennial forum focused on the morphodynamics of rivers, coasts and estuaries, in order to promote knowledge exchange and collaborations among the communities of hydraulic and coastal engineers, physicists, geologists, biologists, computer scientists and applied mathematicians.

La jornadas Coast2Coast está dirigida a jóvenes investigadores en dinámica de costas que desarrollan su trabajo en temas relacionados con la morfodinámica de costas, desde modelado numérico, experimentación en laboratorio, técnicas observacionales y de percepción remota, hasta gestión costera.

Formato del encuentro son charlas y una sesión de posters. Las charlas sonpresenciales, pero el evento se transmitirá online para quienes no puedan asistir en persona. Durante las charlas, solo podrán intervenir los estudiantes de doctorado y early-careers. Se trata de fomentar la participación y el debate entre los ponentes y jóvenes asistentes.

Fechas importantes II Jornadas (2025)

 GELUR is pleased to announce the V edition of Ultrafast Science and Technology Spain (USTS2024) that will be held in Sitges (Barcelona) from November 6 to 8, 2024.

GELUR, the Specialized Group of Ultrafast Lasers of the Royal Spanish Society of Physics (RSEF), is meant to bring together researchers, partners and companies whose areas of research, development and innovation are related with the field of ultrafast lasers and their applications in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Medicine or Materials Science.  The main objective of GELUR is to interconnect and increase the spanish activity around the applications of ultrafast and ultraintense lasers and to promote collaborations in the fields of material processing, ultrafast chemistry and molecular dynamics, biophysics, particle acceleration, plasma physics or quantum science and technology. 

This year the conference is organized by the members of the Nonlinear Optics and Lasers laboratory at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, leaded by Profs. Jose Trull and Crina Cojocaru.

We are confident that the new edition of the conference will be again a success and we are looking forward to meet you in Sitges!

Latest news regarding weather predictions 

Dear colleagues,

During last night and this morning we had heavy rain in some parts of Barcelona area, including Sitges. This rain caused some local floods and affected part of the train network and air traffic at Barcelona airport. This morning an alert has been emitted asking to reduce mobility until today at 14.00h. At this moment alerts ended and the forecast for today and the rest of the week is improving considerably. At the conference location there are no issues and the transportation is recovering.

Under this circumstances and taking into account the actual forecast predictions we keep the conference schedule as planned. However, we strongly recommend you to follow the news and forecast at the official websites and to check the transportation state at the moment you planned your trip. 

We are confident that tomorrow the weather will improve and we all will be able to reach safe the conference place.

POSTER AWARDS

We are thrilled to announce the Best Poster Awards at USTS 2024 conference, meant to recognize the top three posters presented at the conference. There is a special emphasis on acknowledging the contributions from early-career researchers

(PhD and Postdocs).

A panel of judges will be present in both the poster sessions, to assess the quality of the posters and the presentations.

Award Ceremony: during the conference dinner on Thursday, November 7th.

Taller adreçat a noies i noies de 8 a 12 anys acompanyats d'un familiar que es realitza al Museu de Geologia Valentí Masachs però el punt de trobada serà a la consergeria de la UPC de Manresa (Avda. Bases de Manresa, 61-73 08242 Manresa).

En aquest taller els nens aprendran a identificar els minerals utilitzant els 5 sentits i també coneixeran el funcionament d'una talladora làser.

Aforament limitat a 10 nois/noies que poden venir acompanyats d'un familiar.

JORNADA FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE FME 

Es tracta de quatre conferències orientades a donar notorietat a la figura de Florence Nightingale (12/05/1820 – 13/08/1910), escollida com a matemàtica del curs FME 2020-2021, que va ser infermera, estadística i reformadora social britànica, considerada la mare de la infermeria moderna i la creadora del seu primer model conceptual. Va ser la primera dona que va ser admesa a la Royal Statistical Society britànica i també va ser elegida membre honorària de l'American Statistical Association.

Des de l’FME es vol aprofundir en el vessant estadístic de Florence Nightingale i en la seva significació dins d’aquesta àrea de coneixement. I davant de les circumstàncies actuals de crisi sanitària, quines són les interaccions entre les dues facetes (infermeria i estadística) en les quals Florence Nigthingale va excel·lir.

La jornada tindrà lloc el dia 12 de maig del 2021, una data amb doble rellevància: per una banda és el 201 aniversari del naixement de Nightingale i per això se celebra el Dia internacional de la Infermeria i per l'altra, s'escau el Dia internacional de la Dona Matemàtica, amb motiu de l’aniversari de la matemàtica Maryam Mirzakhani.

La durada serà tot el matí, de 9 a 14 h (4 ponències + fòrum de participació) i serà retransmesa en línia via canal YouTube FME.

Les ponències seran en castellà i en anglès.

Cal inscripció prèvia. El formulari d'inscripció romandrà obert fins a l'11 de maig 2021.

Aquesta Jornada és una activitat dins del programa de celebracions del 50è aniversari de la UPC.
